Gays Shouldn't Be In The Military....Ugh...Fineeee.....

Recently Rick Perry released his controversial commercial criticizing Obama's "war on religion" and the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. In case you missed it, here it is:

Needless to say, this created a big debate among the voters. One of the biggest problems I had with this is that homosexuality and religion are two very different things. While religion can be implied on other people, I don't see homosexuality as having the same effect. Has someone ever said "Hey, you should totally turn gay. All the cool kids are doing it"? Yea, me either.

To combat the public's disapproval, Perry released a statement that he will not discharge gays from the military. Rather, he will tolerate them. Because they are obviously that bad. He said "I think you go back and you have that conversation with civilian and military leaders on how to deal with them." Makes them sound like an infestation, eh?

Perry's attempt to appeal to a relatively small group of voters may just backfire (hopefully it will).
